At the liquor store I spend most of my time in the gin or bourbon section. But a few weeks ago, I came across a local vodka, High West Vodka 7000′ Peach.
This vodka is lovely. It’s made with Utah peaches and has none of the synthetic taste of many other flavored vodkas. It’s easily sippable on the rocks. It’s also lovely in this cocktail I made. Named after @doxees, a delightful Twitter friend. I hope I have the pleasure of making this for her in person.
Doxees
1.5 oz. High West Vodka 7000′ Peach
.75 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
Juice of 1/2 a lime
.5 oz ginger syrup
1 oz. of something fizzy
Shake all the ingredients together except for your fizzy ingredient. strain and pour over ice. Top with your fizzy ingredient (I recommend ginger beer/ale, but I’m sure you could do champagne or soda just as well or maybe better). Garnish with thinly sliced lime.
UPDATE: Stolichnaya Peach Vodka also works quite well, and is quite a bit cheaper than High West.
